The Hong Kong PPE Care Package Project was a humanitarian aid effort organized by Emma Buchtel and Priscilla Song with YaleWomenHK during the April 2020 COVID-19 surge in the United States. Together with volunteers and donors from the Yale Club of Hong Kong, they sourced and donated thousands of N95 respirators and surgical masks to frontline medical workers in New York City and other areas suffering PPE (personal protective equipment) shortages during a period of international jockeying for a scarce supply. This transnational effort was awarded a 2020 Yale Alumni Association Board of Governors Excellence Award on January 13, 2021.
